The icon won't work with the lastest SqueezeCenter beta - Alien needs a
small update to support this.
I've attached the revised install.xml file below which you can replace
the current alien one with if you want to try.

Cool. I found the missing directory and copied mplayer.sh into it.
Success.
Now the only thing I gave missing is the ALien BBC icon in the Internet
Radio selection from the home folder in squeezecenter ? Any ideas on
that one ?

mplayer.sh lives (or used to live, in SlimServer 6.5.x) in a folder
named "bin" inside the SlimDevices folder in the Library. My
installation is for one user only, so I am referring to ~/Library. I
expect the relevant Library is /Library if installed for all users.

That means mplayer.sh is either not in the right directory, has wrong
permissions or is not executable.
Unfortunately, I do not know where mplayer.sh should be on a Mac.

I wonder if AlienBBC is installed properly.
Do you have 3 RTSP entries in Server Setting/Advanced/File Types ?
Are any of the entries "disabled" ?

They are all disabled, but when I try to change them to mplayer, it just
defaults straight back to disabled ?

Can you get a log of trying to play a BBC station with player.source and
plugins.alienBBC set to "info".
If the log is big then attach log to post as a zipped file.

OK, I think I've put them in the right places.
Can someone just please confrim that the plugin folder is now within
the preference pane, and you get there by showing the contents ?
I've dropped the alien folder in the plugins folder.
Where does the Bin folder go ? There is already a Bin folder. Do
AlienBBC v2.00 BETA 2 doesn't work for me (running SqueezeCenter and mac
os x 10.5.1) either. Nothing shows up under Internet Radio in
SqueezeCenter or on my Squeezebox.
The older AlienBBC v.200 BETA works, though.

installing SC for all users. "local" does not, AIUI, mean local to an
individual user.

Last week NPR moved over to a Flash based player with their own "NPR
media player".
All programming from end Nov 2007 is in the new format. Only old
archive progs are in RealAudio/WMA.
It looks like NPR want to protect their streams by embedding in Flash.

We are pleased announce a new release of AlienBBC. This release is a
beta release of v2.00 and is only compatible with SqueezeCenter 7.0. As
this is a BETA release we cannot a fully support it, also if things
change in 7.0 then this release may stop working - it has been tested
with revision r1502
