The iPlayer "Listen Again" are available in RealAudio and MP3. The MP3
ones are only accessible if you are in the UK. Poor description -
should be "BBC provides most services in MP3 and/or WMA in the UK".

SB cannot play RealAudio stream natively - it needs a PC to transcode
from RealAudio into MP3 or Flac.
All the BBC content that is available worldwide is in RealAudio so you
need a PC to transcode.

I have the alienBBC plugin but while I see BBC Essex under the Local
radio heading, this station will not stream live, with only a play it
again facility for selected programs.
Would I be right in thinking that live streaming for this station is
not available? If thats the case then this software
BBC podcast are available through AlienBBC
Also you can use the BBC XML feed. A search of the forum wiht BBC and
Podcast would have found this

Five Live has recently stopped working for me in Australia - when I play
it on my Squeezebox I get a recorded message saying 'Sorry, we can't
bring you the program you requested'. I can play Five Live with no
problems on my PC so hopefully it will be possible to get it back on my
Squeezebox - anyb
Radio 5 Live is playing OK here in Spain.

Just installed AlienBBC with Squeezcentre 7.1, its seems that most of
the streams are OK but am having issues with the live Radio Five
stream, its says its connected but don't get any sound.
When I try the 'play it again' from Five I seem to get them OK, is
there issues with getting the Five live
Well, that was painless. Compiled and installed MPlayer, installed
AlienBBC, restarted SqueezeCenter and I have Radio 2 live.
Excellent.

I use AlienBBC to listen to all the BBC stations (and Listen Again) in
Philippines. Most of the time it works okay, but there are times when
the international links become congested and drop lots of packets. :(

At a guess - if you are using a digital radio you may be in the UK.
If you are in the UK there is also the BBCiPlayer plugin which provides
similar functionality to AlienBBC but provides access to better quality
MP3 version of the programs. Also since MP3 is used - there is less
load on the serve
I've been using AlienBBC for a week - my digital radios are now in the
cupboard. An unexpeceted bonus was that you get all the 'listen again'
programmes as another list - absolutely fantastic.

As an ex-pat living in Spain, I'm missing listening to BBC radio every

My understanding is that I can't receive the stream via my SB3 as it is
only available in the UK. Is that an IP address block and is it
