Thanks again for your suggestions with this issue - I had no idea that
my AV software looked as closely and affected network traffic to the
degree it obviously does as no other apps I use on a day to day basis
have shown any problems at all.
Cheers.

Use BBCiPlayer if you are the UK - better quality.
Main difference is AlienBBC enables playing of RealAUdio streams. UK
user get better quality MP3 "LIsten Again" - non UK have to use
RealAudio 48kbps versio.

Good news.
After installing squeezecenter - often user have to configure the

Hold that thought I have just added squeezecenter as a monitoring

Thank for the pointer - I have just disabled Kapersky on my server and
the live streams work perfectly - any ideas what I need to configure to
allow this traffic through whilst still retaining my basic security
features?
Thanks again!

The BBC ASX playlist has a number of mms url so that load canbe spread
across them.
Your problem is not the mms urls and the ability to play them but the
truncation of the ASX playlist. I remember the issue came up a few
times a few months ago - I think in one case security s/w was blocking

Tried that to no avail!
I'm going back to my transistor radio :)
If I paste

into a browser on my server it works fine in WMP - its only SC that has
an issue with this live stream it would appear.
The "Buffer" setting is amount data to be buffered in the player - it
has no effect in AlienBBC and will not affect this problem.
The message indicates the ASX playlist returned by the BBC either has
an error or the message has been truncated which happens with a
timeout.

I already have my buffer set to 20 seconds and radio station timeout to
30 seconds because of the issues I had been having with Alien BBC.
What logging do you recommend to try to track this issue down?
Cheers.

The general reason for the "No items" message is that SC did not receive
a playlist or a valid playlist. Sometimes this is caused by a timeout
or congestion.
Before trying some extra logging options - try increasing network
timeout in WebUI Settings/Advanced/Network/Radio Station Timeout to

I have unistalled Alien BBC because of the issues exhibited and would
like to get the iPlayer plugin working correctly.
unfortunately only BBC World Service works for me within the iPlayer

Assuming you just want to track down the problem since there is no
reason to play the RealAudio live streams.

When I booted up this morning, iPlayer had miraculously appeared on the

AlienBBC live RealAudio streams are only 48kbps but by default are
transcoded into Flac which can be a strain on some user networks which
could result in stuttering / rebuffering. Since all live BBC national

I stopped the service in Windows and then restarted it.
I have also rebooted my server.
Radio One live did start to play on one of my Squeezeboxes a few
minutes ago, but not the others. Now it wont play again. I did notice
a different URL when it worked (mms: ...) if that makes a difference.
Rowbos,
If you have the same problem with "More Radio" link then it is a
general setup / Network /ISP issue and not specifdically a Plugin
issue.
Try increasing the WebUI Settings/Advanced/Network/Radio Station

Please don't install the plugin manually - it should now be installed
via Extension Downloader.
The first thing to do is to remove all traces of the plugin. Go to the
web interface and look at the status settings page. This will show you

What version of SC ?
What OS ?
You should be using Extension Downloader to install and then reboot.
