Has anybody looked at the mufin player? It seems to work in a similar
vein to MusicIP, ie fingerprinting music and then using a seed track to
lineup similar tracks.
Been playing with the basic version recently and the results are pretty
good, though I've noticed a few issues with it, i

The Mufin website is extremely slow
(http://www.mufin.com/us/software/mufinplayer) from my side of the world
and the download won't even start. So, I haven't looked at it yet, but a
Google search brought up this Oct 2008 writeup

looks like, that they use AudioID:

but htey write, only some seconds of a song is enough to recognice,
which songs this is - is this enough to manage good mixes? or have they
other technologies in the background?
