Hmm... If this did work, then I don't see any reason why it wouldn't from the
web UI. Can you access it from SlimNAS' web page?

No, shouldn't be required.

How comfortable are you on the command line? You could log in to your FreeNAS
box, CD to the squeezebox folder then run:
perl slimserver.pl --user=www --d_startup
What gives?

I do. Just at other times than you ;-)

My bad - that's fine.

There's a tab in the SlimNAS web UI.

FreeNAS 0.8 nightlies won't work with SlimNAS.

Just updated my test machine and SlimNAS continued to work fine (running SBS
7.4.2), as did the latest 7.5.0 release.
Are you running the 64 bit version of FreeNAS? This wouldn't be supported.

Freenas 0.7.1 downloaded about a week ago.
I'll post the server logs, and the sc folder later in the evening, as
it's at home, and I"m at work.
You say slimnas won't work with recent nightlies of FreeNas or of SC?

Do you now see a squeezeboxserver folder in that share? What about the
server.log (from the web UI)? What FreeNAS version are you ru
Hi there,
Instead of starting a new thread, I thought I'd just build on this one,
as it's similar to the problem I'm having.
Downloaded all three files (slimnas-install.sh,
squeezeboxserver-7.5.0.tgz, and slimnas.tgz), and put them all on an
existing CIFS share on my freenas system.
The install

It seems that squeezecenter runs stable now - it's up and running - and
stays there - but still there is no songs..
The scanner.log and perfmon.log - are both empty and at 0.0kb.
By the way.. I chmodded everything in the music-folder, to 777.. That
helped.. It now discovers my music-files.. duh!

Hi
As I rebooted Freenas, Squeezecenter came online for a while - but is
now down again - I didn't reach to hear any music, but saw the
squeezecenter home-web..
It scanned the directory I gave it, but didn't add any of the mp3's
into it's database... - So I didn't have any songs to play..

Alright, I downloaded the script and the package again, logged in as
root and ran the script in shell.
I didn't give any errors.
But Slimnas still can not startup..
I still can't find libperl.so
However this time, there is a log-file in the maintenance-tab.. It
says:

Just log in with root instead of your user.

Small partitions.. Hmm, but these were created by the freenas

larger usb-stick?
I was logged in as a user with full shell access..

I don't know which one is your root partition. But 13M or 28M both sound
like small partitions.

After having assigned full shell access for a user (duh!) - I get "run:
command not found."
After realising, that I should only write what was in the "".. I get:

Does that help?

Are you comfortable accessing the FreeNAS' shell? If so:
- cd /mnt/NASSHARE/slimnas/squeezecenter
- run "perl slimserver.pl --user=www"
What do you get?

published.

When I browse to:
/NASSHARE/slimnas/var
/NASSHARE/slimnas/var/squeezecenter/Logs
- with Filezilla - there are no files...

What does server.log (in the var folder) say?
BTW: what browser are you using? The page's layout looks a bit broken on
the screenshot (nothing serious).

First I wish to thank mherger for his work on creating, maintaining and
supporting the slimnas plugin..
I attached a few screenshots of my setup.
The problem is, that when I try to start squeezecenter from the
extentions-tab - it says to wait a minute, and then noting happens...
