I am starting Softsqueeze from Squeezecenter 7.0 on Mac OS X. No matter
how I set up my system, the colume is extremely low. All my other
hardware players are fine, but Softsqueeze just can't keep up, even if
I crank up the Mac's volume to the highest level. Volume is synced
across all

im Hinergrund scheinbar auch nicht. Was auch nicht verwundert, dazu ist
wohl eine jar sound-Anwendung nicht gemacht.

gslimp3 has popping and crackling. I brought up SoftSqueeze in Leopard
and it is working fine. My issue must either be a JVM version problem
or maybe a 64-bit JVM issue. Maybe I can force a 32-bit 1.5 version of
Java or something to see if that helps in Linux.

I´d like to wake this question up again now that squeezeslave is around
and working well.
I think squeezeslave as back-end would be a killer app on lots of
internetconnected phones out there. Wold it be a huge task to port

My set up is - iMac operating as server, 2 players, Macbook laptop.
I've been running 7.0a for some time but installed 7.0.0 today.
When i added the macbook i used Apple's migration tool to copy
everything from my iMac to the Macbook. I have a user account with the
same name on both
It sounds like both copies of softsqueeze think they have the same
player ID code. The ID code is not based on IP address, it's based on
the ethernet address hard-coded in the computer. It's possible the
address is read by softsqueeze and then stored as a setting instead of
trying to read it

Hi,
I've been having some problems with audio playing at about half speed
or not at all on SoftSqueeze. I've now switched back to using the
JLayer mp3 decoder rather than the Java mp3 plugin and it seems to have
resolved the problems.
This is with Softsqueeze 3.5 running on WinXP sp2 with Java
As above really. It used to work and now doesn't (stopped some time
ago). I get the Softsqeeze window, but no display and most of the
buttons don't work. I have tried uninstalling and installing again.
ANy thoughts?

On closer inspection of the logs it appears that Softsqueeze is

When I play a WMA radio feed on Softsqueeze all I get is squeaks and
clicks. I'm running Slimserver on a Debian 4 box and have Mplayer
configured (as per the Wiki instructions).
When I use the Mplayer configuration to stream to my SB3 (rather than

Under Server Setting/FileTypes uncheck RTSP-MP3 and RTSP-Flac .
Now if you try playing only mplayer will be involved. If there are

Well that seemed to work, although I had to enter it several times into
the Play URL field. Don't know why most of the time when I enter a URL
there nothing seems to happen.
I think the problem arises because even though you enter the http URL,
when you are in Now Playing and you Add to
In 6.5. Favorites is not great for radio URLs. use the MyPicks plugin
and you will be able to add the ASX URL.
In SC 7.0 - you can add the URLS to Favorites from the web interface.

awy's synch improvements. Last time I tried it, Softsqueeze and my SB3
got out of synch fairly quickly.
Surely couldn't take that log to run the build scripts.

The application says java is in place. The thing tries to start, but

One simple thing to check - you may have the brightness turned down on
SoftSqueeze, or a broken/no screensaver set. Try pressing the brightness
and power buttons on SoftSqueeze's remote control to just rule that out.

For some reason Softsqueeze 3.4 is doing the equivalent of an intro
scan when playing music and plays the first 10-20 seconds of each song
then moves onto the next.
I have 3 real players attached and these work find so is this a
setting, or a bug or something else.

I have found that Vista sometimes has a problem with the address
localhost - don't know why, but it can be fixed by using the IP
address 127.0.0.1 instead. Maybe a translation issue!

I found something that mitigates this problem. At least on the two linux
systems I use, Gentoo and Ubuntu 7.04. I simply changed the Audio mixer
in softsqueeze from my sound card to Java Sound Audio Engine. This made
the problem almost entirely go away.

for imon iirc. and i had problems patching the kernel and gave up. There
are java outputters for writing to imon vfd's but never got that far.
