Ah, rats.
I've flipped through a bunch of the older posts in this forum, and see
that there've been a number of issues with Glue. Thanks for taking the
time to read and respond to my post, James! And looking back, for
making iTunesUpdate and the support you've given to the community.
Pretty damn

I don't have a Mac so I can't really help with this, but maybe someone else can?

Sounds like 'nothing being played' is the problem!
You'll need to enable the debug log level of the plugin and check the logs to
see what's going wrong...

Would appreciate any help.
Succesfully MAKEd everything with XCode under terminal and have tried a
force install per the readme.
Placed the iTunesUpdate folder in appropriate location.
Have it checked on under 3rd party plugins in the web interface, and
have it set to DIRECT.

thanks, James. I turned Direct Update back on and they are still coming

That's right, so it seems like an issue with iTunes.
I've got iTunes 10 on a laptop, I'll see if I can recreate this...

It's a bit of a mystery.
I've checked and the line of code that sets the play time uses the perl

Thanks - at least we know that SlimServer's clock agrees with yours!
I need to check how the plugin sets the date, as I recall it just refers to the
'current' time...
What's the timezone on your PC set to?

It would be in settings->advanced->logging.
There should be a huge list of dropdown boxes and one will be

You could enable the debug level logging of iTunesUpdate and check the log
after playing a track - the output may contain some clues?
James
thanks for the response. iTunesUpdate is now working, but the times it
records for "last played" is off by five hours from my computer time
(it is exactly five hours less than the actual time). what would cause
that?

Sorry, not using iTunes 10 myself.
The plugin stopping working after an iTunes upgrade is a fairly common issue
(on Windows) and reinstallating usually fixes the issue. Seems like it fails to
install the COM components sometimes.
Anyone using iTunes 10 without issues?
James

does anyone monitor these posts or care about this issue? i really love

Hi,
I installed iTunesUpdate on my iMac running mac os 10.5.6. It shows up
on my plugins list and appears to load fine. However, the itunes
database doesn't seem to update correctly.
I looked through the log and found this interesting line:
