Just updated the main plugin release to include this so you should be
able to update to version 1.1.8 of the released version in a few
minutes and still have this working.

Hi All,
just thought I'd dig this thread up again, as I've been trying to get
the flash aac / flash mp3 to work so I can listen again to some of the
proms in higher quality than currently.
Basically I get playback okay with prefer wma streams checked, but I
get no playback without this checked.
Thats suggesting it is not connecting direct to an rtmp server. Do you
have some forms of proxy or something else in the way? If so this will
not be supported by the rtmp code.

Hi Triode,
just removed the proxy setting, and can confirm that I'm now listening
to one of today's earlier proms in AAC and it's sounding great!
I can't remember if there's any reason why I still need a proxy
configured, although I have a niggling feeling there is some reason, so

Hi Triode,
just dug back through my old posts on here, and found this one:

does that seem like a reasonable solution, maybe suitable for inclusion
in your code?

Could you try the RTMP.pm file attached as an alternative to the one

yes, I actually had a look at the code after I posted - it's changed
quite a lot since then hasn't it?!
Could you try the RTMP.pm file attached as an alternative to the one
shipped with the plugin?
yay! that works perfectly!
thank you so much

Hi Triode bpa,
Have you tried setting the prefer wma option in the settings web page
for the plugin?
okay, with that option enabled I can listen again... but it'd be
nice to have the higher quality if possible - I am UK based, with a UK
ISP
The error says the response received from
RTMP is not RTSP - DESCRIBE is part of RTSP which was part of the
protocol used with RealAudio. Triode knows the RTMP protocol as he
implemented it.
There are small differences in stream settings (e.g. speed) between a
user inside the UK and outside the UK but BBCiPlayer has been tested in
both

ah, my bad.
You used to make a mod to SBS to support a proxy - is the mod still
there ?
that was needed when I had a work provided internet link that didn't
have outbound port 80 access allowed.
Hi bpa,
I've been trying pretty much daily since I first posted here, hoping it
was the bbc end, but I've not been able to get a single Listen Again
thing to work.
Is it at all possible it's something at my end, and is there anything I
could try to test further?
thanks

Have you tried setting the prefer wma option in the settings web page
for the plugin? This will stop it using the rtmp streams.
I don't understand the debug it suggests the server you are connecting
to is not an rtmp server or it implements the protocol differently from
me! The error says the
Assuming the RTMP protocol is the same, the only explanation I can
think if is something is interfering with the protocol stream such as
security s/w or possibly some form of proxy.
What is the host OS ?
Any security s/w or proxy or something else that intercepts the
protocol stream between SBS
here's the server log, with more debug:

If it was working and has now stopped. It is possible this is a BBC
problem as they are having various issues. First, check that you can
play listen again programs using the Web browser based iPlayer.

Recently the BBC have had problems on their internet feeds (see
http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbiplayer/F13735684 ) .
Since your install was working and then suddenly stopped - I would tend
to believe the problem is at BBC end. Caching may be making the problem
persist on your SBS even though the
