On amd64 -current (host system) I tried the updated qemu.
With $ ulimit -d 200, I ran:
$ qemu-system-i386 -m 1300 -no-acpi -monitor stdio -no-fd-bootchk -hda dfly.img
-cdrom isos/dfly.iso -boot d
I tried the above command, and also qemu-system-x86_64
