I just got the info from Apple Knowledge Base, it is in Document #16168 and
it lists all PB adapters, batteries and Battery charger works with what

That's what I wanted thanks!

Hey guys,
I've caught wind of a dual modem/ethernet PC card. It's a D-Link
DMF-560TXD PC card and supports PCMCIA type II PC card standard version
2.0
Anybody know if this standard would work on a PB 1400c ?

Generally speaking... a couple years. But that is
quite general. A lot of things effect overall battery
life. Most importantly is the more often the battery
is used, the longer it will last. Consistent
drainings and rechargings are important to sustaining
the life of your battery.

Anyone out there had experience with BOTH connections?
I have had both and cable was faster at first. Till about 4 months after I got it it
started slowing down with more users sharing the bandwith. So if your in an area than

I've just bought two new batteries for my 5300c--looking forward to extended no-ac
sessions. But I wanted to know, how long do am I supposed to charge a new battery
before using it? I seem to remember hearing something about 24 hrs... Obviously I'd
like to get the most out of these.

I'd go with 24 hours for the first 3-5 times you charge these new batteries and be
sure to drain them all of the way each time before recharging them. Once you get past
the break-in period you could probably reduce the charge time significantly and not
worry quite so much about draining them

Hello,
I posted here a while ago about finding an extension which enables the
L2 cache on my Vimage G3 card for my PB 1400. Does anyone know where I
could find it? Or does anyone have a Vimage card and could send me a copy
of the extension? Thanks a lot in advance.

There are a number of reasons...perhaps the correct software isn't
loaded, maybe something else is hogging the port (Appletalk might be or
Fax software) or the correct modem script isn't there, or your modem
isn't
It's not strictly a PB issue, but I'm trying to access files from my PB

sometimes file server for my powerbooks.

I am very happy with the GV Platinum Pro combo card I got on ebay.
One nice small dongle for RJ-11 and RJ-45, the dongle plugs into itself
when not in use (makes a circle, kinda) so the ports
I have the Global Village Platinum 33.6, which has worked well for me. It's
just the modem, not the combo modem/ethernet.

You don't really NEED drivers for modems. Just use the standard AT
commands to set it up. Do you have a modem control panel, and have your
modem selected? Although for most modems it's just basic
