I echo your experience 100%. I purchased my 3400c about a year ago, and
when I showed co-workes QT videos running full screen, they were amazed,
especially when they found out that it is circa 1997.
In face, one of them switched from Windows to Mac based on that little
demo. I still use

I just added a new 'book' to the collection. A
PB3400 I bought from a distributor off lease. This
little jewel only has 180 mhz processor and a mere
32 mb ram but I am blown away by the performance
considering it is pre G3 vintage. It runs rings
around my little 5300, and is really no slouch

Isn't that bad for the rubber and plastics? Alcohol tends to dry
things out, and I wouldn't want to crack any components as a result...
I've used isopropyl alcohol on the duo keyboard to clean the contacts,

My PowerBook 180 (B&W active matrix screen) does odd things with its
backlight. When I boot it, the backlight starts off at full strength, then
dims, then shuts itself off completely before the little cartoon Mac screen
appears. (It's running 7.5.5.) I believe it must be a software command, as

I'm rather experienced with desktop Macs but have little experience with powerbooks.

it doesn't go on. The only sign of life is

My Pismo freezes if I put my CompactFlash Card in after it's started
up 9.2.2. I always put the card in and then start up and it shows up.
Do you have File Exchange enabled? Since the card is probably PC
formatted, that would be necessary, I think.
