Has to be Data Memory Systems, www.datamem.com, $8 powerbook SCSI, cheap

Correct ... Data Memory Systems, D/B/A DMS.
I've got four of them in my various 5300s and they are great. No video
Interesting, Clark. I must be looking at a vs3.0 limitation. I do not
have a == option in my Symbol Menu. If I type the find symbol into
the field directly either in quotes or out of quotes ==c* I get no
finds.
But if I find =c* then I get all records with the word A in the find field.

I'm needing to replace my pram battery in my PB1400c, and hate like heck to
take the machine apart right now...does anyone know what pram battery this
machine takes?? Thanks.

Just to recap my miserable boring infuriating problems trying to reinstall
an operating system on my 5300: I wiped the drive and partitioned it. All
attempts to get a network going again so as to reinstall OS 8.5 from the CD
failed, so I bought a SCSI adapter to connect via SCSI disk mode.

So what to try next Is there any way to rescue this thing, or is it
destined to be a paperweight forever?
If it becomes a paperweight, then you, me, and everyone else on this list
has 'failed'. So lets start with the various options from the top... :-)
Suggestion 1.
Have you tried copying
My daughter has a 68K Powerbook 520c and I am looking for a song
writing/recording program. Is there anything that will do the task for her?
Thanks to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

What do you mean by song writing/recording?
Can she read sheet music? If so, try Hypercard.

Deluxe Music Construction set was an old program that ran on 512k Macs.

Suggestion 3.
See if you can find a cheapo external SCSI CD drive... Don't know if it will
work, but MAYBE you can start up/install off that??
If the SCSI port is good, it works with no problem at all. When I upgraded
the hard drive in my 5300, I booted the machine from an OS 8 CD through an
You should upgrade to 8.1 on the 5300 regardless. It's definitely more
stable than 8.0, although either is 10 times better then 7.5.x.
And lke was said before, make sure you have Shared Library Manager PPC
installed.
You also might want to make sure you have the latest hard disk drivers
How much RAM is on that 5300? I found 8.1 to be sluggish with 24 megs, but
when I bumped the machine up to 40 and replaced the slow stock HD with a
faster one, OS 8.1 suddenly became more responsive than any version of
System 7 I'd tried. Not to mention it is far more stable.
8.1 takes longer to
There was also the old program ConcertWare...

Thanks Gart, I WAS joking, but that¹s ok, sarcasm doesn't really work in an
e-mail...
Just to state really the obvious, the 512K Mac was of course a 68K machine
itself, and included the 68000 processor, not the (much faster and newer)
68020.
