Help! I was merrily surfing along this evening and
suddenly, my display just faded right out to white. I
immediately restarted the machine, and it was booting
normally, but the screen went crazy, banding and
flickering, and briefly showing a normal display, then
banding and fading out to white.

I need the drivers for a Global Village 56K/ethernet PCMCIA card.
The website has to be the worst one I have ever seen. I have a Gold
data/Fax card, and for that one's drivers I did find (by Google) a
link that bypasses their STUPID log-on process (which wouldn't let me
have this file),
I was given a PB1400c after I recovered the data off it for a friend who
didn't want to deal with it any longer.
I initialized the hard drive, ran the disk utility/drive set up to check
the erased disk for bad blocks, ran disk first aid, everything said
fine, seems to be no problems. I updated

Support Low End
I'm actually suprised you got 7.5.3 to install.. I didn't have any luck
with my 1400, I was given the error that it didn't support that os, and
had to install 8.1. But I have gotten that error before.. What I found
was that the ribbon cable that connects the hd to the mobo was partially
loose.
That sounds like a cable problem. It's a pain, but can you remove the
top plastics to see whether the video cable is firmly seated?

Sys 7.5.3 is the early OS for PB 1400, may have been a model specific
*enabler* problem

I was too tired last night to go through much beyond
PRAM, but today when I turned it on, it began to show
digital garbage -- not graphic, then suddenly when the
Mac OS 8.6 screen came up, it was fine. It
continued to boot and acts normally. We're going to
take it apart this weekend anyway, and
The DragLib function is actually built into the MacOS 8.6 System file, so
it sounds like the problem is coming from an old extension that is
explicitly trying to open the old DragLib file. Look for extensions circa
1990-1993 and disable them one by one until you find the culprit.
By the way,
Arrgh. A tale of woe:
Went online and paid for DiskWarrior--a bit steep but if it works
The download didn't go well, so I opted for their send by email method.
Ok--got it, put the 2 files on my desktop, and discovered that my version
of unstuffit is 5.x--and 7.x won't run on my setup.
