PB 540c Not Connecting ?

I've been trying to get the boys PB 540c online, but still cannot connect. I know the modem is good. I've used it to connect my PowerMac 7300/500, and it worked just fine. The modem is a SupraExpress 56. I don't have any drivers, or whatever the software is for the modem. I chose Null Modem 57x

I recently came across a Stylewriter II that I want to use with my 5300 (see the hook there? :) ) and it needs a new cart. OfficeMax has the Apple Brand for around $30--much to much for me. IIRC, the stylewriter was made by Canon, but the store didn't have a cross-reference guide. Does anyone
