After reading these things on the 3400 GLOD I went to the garage to retrieve that old 5300. Mere speculation: it emits the bong and then noting. No green light nor other activity: just the classic bong. Stop. I replaced the PRAM battery, same thing. Tomorrow will try to replace the powerboard

My 3400 is a gem except for a couple of quirks: When battery one is getting low, I shut down, swap batteries, and attempt startup. Nothing happens. It doesn't seem to matter which of the two batteries I swap to, it won't start up. It starts up fine if I plug it in. Secondly, after I attempt to
