They acknowledged their mistake and shipped for free to Italy the
right item. Moreover they did not want the wrong thing back. It was
only a useless 5 bucks worth thing, but I appreciated the behavior.

So I left my positive feedback. Actually seller hasn't
Here's a new one. I've got two 3400c motherboards (200MHz and
180MHz). I've gotten my 180 to boot alright (but for some reason I
can't get ethernet working - but that's a separate issue I'll deal
with later). The 200, on the other hand, just has GLOD.
Using EXACTLY the same components (the

I have 4 with this symptom, so if you discover the cause, let me
know, the cause is on the logic board, and like Tom, I have replaced the
PMU chip.

Hi all,
I finally obtained a replacement mob (180 Mhz). Did we
all forget our dream of getting a G3 board? If anybody
knows of a source, please let us (me) know. I think
the 240 Mhz model had a beefed up something or other.

Hello MadDog,
A while ago, I asked on Chipdir-L -
PMU (68HC05) in an Apple PowerBook - possible to
reflash?
Here follows the only reply that I saved from a very
long thread:
As a shot in the dark cover the 6805 with black
electrical tape and try that. They where very light
sensitive.
Does anyone know how to get ActiveX enabled in iCab?
Thanks

IMHO, this would put an unfair leverage into the hands of unscrupulous buyers.
You are right, but the same sentence can be read:

Hopefully ebay is full of **scrupulous** sellers and buyers.
Sorry for the OT, but I wanted to
OTOH . . .
I've been an eBay buyer and seller since July '98 with 100% positive
rating of 450 on 526 feedbacks (dankephoto.) I treat my buyers as I
would wish to be treated and they've reciprocated in kind.
As a seller I _always_ leave positive feedback once the item has shipped.

I agree, but know from experience that there are MANY MORE unscrupulous
buyers than sellers...

After reading these things on the 3400 GLOD I went to the garage to
retrieve that old 5300.
Mere speculation:
it emits the bong and then noting. No green light nor other
activity: just the classic bong. Stop.
I replaced the PRAM battery, same thing.
Tomorrow will try to replace the powerboard

Anyone know which IC is the voltage controller for the CPU ? Thats
my next near-random guess.

The PMU doesnt have a reflash window. I dont think this will

My 3400 is a gem except for a couple of quirks: When battery one is
getting low, I shut down, swap batteries, and attempt startup. Nothing
happens. It doesn't seem to matter which of the two batteries I swap
to, it won't start up. It starts up fine if I plug it in.
Secondly, after I attempt to
(Too bad about the GLOD. It looks like the 200MHz board will end up
in my pile-o-parts for the time being... Thanks anyway, guys)
Here's the new problem. I can't get the ethernet working on my
3400c. I've got it hooked into my switch, and I can select ethernet
in TCP/IP without problems.
Yeah, that sounds a lot like your PRAM battery is dead. Do you have
a voltmeter that you can use to test it?
You could also try resetting the power manager to see if that helps at all...
Peace,

Thanks. I didn't know about resetting the power manager. I'll try it
