I'm having trouble with my 3400's HD. It is running 9.1. From time to time it clearly gets stuck in some area during various searches. You can hear a repetitive chatter (like angry squirrels) as it tries to retrieve the info, but than that, the machine is functioning agreeably. I have run Norton

depends on the hotel. If they offer wireless, then you have no chance with the 540 only. You would need a small wireless receiver where you can connect your 540 in. I have a rev. c card cage and plan on getting wireless soon... If they offer ethernet you just need a transceiver for your

Just formatting it won't make it work on the mac--you need to run DriveSetup to get it to be usable as a device, especially if you want to boot from it. (I'm using a 256meg unit in my 5300c as a startup device--I'll go to 1 gig soon as I see a rebate on a CF--those things can be costly! :) )
