My 2 cents? The Pismo is more readily adaptable. By this I mean that even a clot with the mechanical skills of a turtle with a screwdriver (i.e. me...) can upgrade and reconfigure it rather easily. The TiBooks, on the other hand usually need a more skilled touch, and upgrade parts are fewer

Sorry for the double post, but I saw where you posted the amount of RAM. My mistake. Is that Virtual Memory, or actual RAM? Also, you can go into the Get Info command, and set the amount of RAM it uses. It's command+I, if you don't know. That's quite a bit on the 190, though, but I guess that

Yes, 8.1 and 8.6 are great for the 1400, although it can run OS 9 it is not recomended and startup is very slow. to get the effect of the second mouse button in OS 8 press ctrl+click and a menu will come up, and with the Mac there are mahy third-party apps you can install to customize the menu.
