Hi,
Can anyone tell me if a PowerBook 3400 CD-ROM module will work in a

I have recently acquired a nice PB 3400c/180, OS 8.1, 3GB HD, 32MB RAM,
floppy. I also won a PB 3400 cd-rom module on eBay for this machine. The cd-rom
module appears to be OK, and is recognized by the 3400, but for some reason, CDs
do not appear on the desktop. I have tried removing the module

Firewire case for the EIDE's as well ... any ideas?

I recently got a 3400/OS9 without CD, and I've seen some 6-12x CD modules for
$50-100. Anyone know if these CD-ROM prices are about as good as it gets, or
should I maybe invest in a CD burner (I think I spotted some EIDE internal
drives for $20-$30). Although I may need a SCSI burner now that I
