You'll know instantly if you have the bug or not. Play a QT movie and your machine will lock up hard. If it plays fine, you don't have it. This is for the Sonnet upgrade card for the 1400. And if you are real, real lucky, the problems will reappear with QuickTime 5! So stick with QT 4. --

As far as Sonnet is concerned, I hope they go bankrupt. I must say that both of my Sonnet G3 cards work well, were easily installed, and the directions clear. These are not PB cards, however. My experience with RamDoubler has not been good with the G3 cards, and I agree with Geoffrey. Get

OS 9.1 sounds as if it would be a slug on the 1400 because of the ram. Scrap out the 117-with the passive LCD, how could Apple ever sell that screen 9.1 does not hog as much RAM as you might imagine. It's running from 12.5-17.5, depending on its mood -- switching on or off extensions doesn't
