Screen problems

Hi, I have acquired a 5300 which has shown up a problem. On start up I hear and ordinary chime and there is lots of disc activity. However, the screen merely goes from being off (black) to a vaguely golden colour. I think from the fact that pressing the power button and enter turns it off that t

screen problems with 190cs

PB 5300cs Screen Problems

Dear List, Recently, I was given a PB 5300cs. It starts up with a weak sounding chime, and, although I can hear the HD clicking, apparently its booting up, but all that the screen displays is a dim blue screen. When I connect it up to an external monitor, I still get a blue screen only

My 1400 used to have issues like that. When I flexed the display it would go away. I took the display apart, reseated all the connectors and it's worked perfectly since. I would only recommend taking it apart if you are skilled or brave. If it's intermittent it's probably a loose connector, if it's
