I'm actually using 9.2.2 on this machine. It worked fine with 9.2, though.

I've heard you can do that but which version of the Airport Software did you
use? I've downloaded 2.0.2 and 2.0.4 and TomeViewer but hadn't tried it yet.
I think the 2.0.4 version says you have to have Mac OS 9.2.2 install

The dividing line between those PBs which can use Apple's AirPort
software and those which cannot falls along the nubus-to-pci-platform
transition. AP needs OpenFirmware to initialize and since nubus-based
Macs lack OpenFirmware, AP won't work on such nubus 'Books as 5300 and
1400.

Maybe. I think i've determined that AirPort looks at the pccd
system gestalt to decide if it wants to work or not. I'm still
trying to hack the vanilla AirPort 1.3 installer to install on a
3400c. I got far enough that
My recommendation:
ORiNOCO Silver (or Gold) card.
AirPort 1.3 drivers.
That combination will work on Mac OS 8.6 or higher, provided you've
got a 2400c or 3400c (or newer).
AirPort 1.3 won't install on the 2400, 3400, or Kanga. You have to
use TomeViewer to install it manually.
