The attachment has to be converted into a format that won't get messed
up when sent through various mail servers. Old mail servers (and
those acting like them out of compatibility reasons) will mungle up
certain binary sequences, so those sequences have to be pre-mungled
and un-mungled later.

Why when I get a message that has a (let's say for example purposes a
325K size attachment) converts that to 432K when the entire message is
forwarded.

Hi, just got back on the list after a while. The question's probalby
been asked already.
I have to ask, could the webkit be used for previewing HTML? Via
plugin or just in a later version of PM? Despite my personal dislike
for HTML mail, I've got some lame friends.
