First is there and Powermail List archive I can search.
I have a computer that Powermail corrupts the disk any time I try to open it.
I am sure the mail database has a corrupt message causing this.
What can I do to keep my 8000 messages in tact!

When PM crashes on launch, there are two common causes we have seen of,
one is Stuffit incompatibility, and the other is Application Support
directory permission flip which RepairPermission will not be able to fix
so you have to chmod.
I believe crash log gives clue.

Remove the address book temporarily. If that doesn't help, create a new
environment to move the rebuilt DB to and/or delete the "PowerMail

Tried Powermail Salvage on a 8000 message database that Powermail will
not open with.
Powermail crashes when I try to import the Powermaial Salvage exchange file!
What is wrong and how do I get my messages back?
With a previous beta, I saw the Compose and Print button icons
occasionally get corrupted. It seems to be fixed in b26, but now I see
some of the icons in the Checkmark column of the browser message list
getting corrupted. It looks like it is the Reply icon going bad.

Ok, here is what I had to do to get my message base back.
Powermail Salvage showed 4 incomplete messages.
Trying to import the message database after recovering all
but the 4 incomplete messages would only result in Powermail
unexpectedly quitting almost immediately.
I checked the disk with Nor

In the past, I have heard a number of reports of powermail database
corruption. As a Powermail user, can you confirm this? How has it
affected you, if at all. Have you lost data? Has this been fixed in the
newest version? I'm a long time Claris Emailer User and I can see that
PowerMail
I never lost any data, although I'm crashing my computer regularly due to
my programming work.
PowerMail works very reliable for me since I changed from Eudora to
PowerMail with version 3.

I only lost data when I was fetching messages and the (now defunct) CPU
halted due to heat problems. The DB wouldn't recover after that. The DB
do have survived a few crashed while fetching, so I think my first
experienc was on the extreme side.

I was one of them, but I didn't loose the data. I only lost $50!
I too backup data weekly, but my corruption started a year ago, which I

I use PowerMail heavily, and I've never lost any data. I've occasionally
had to do a low-level rebuild - once after a power cut happened while I
was using it - and

Last problem I had Jerome suggested that I try the latest Alpha build (at
the time 5.1.1a1) and/or Export to a new user environment. Neither have
worked and now I can't empty my trash (couldn't under 5.1 either). I get

How many times did I tell you that you need to export from PM5 to PM4.
To repeat myself, the corruption you got is at PM5 indexing mechanism.
Reimporting into PM5 won't fix it. You need to make your d
