Ailsom, You shouldn’t have any problems with the majority of 32 bit apps if they are well behaved but obviously they will not run as quickly as native 64 bit apps. It is a different matter if you were to ask about the 64bit Server 2K3 version though as this doesn’t run a lot of 32 bit software!
