I have a textbox bound to a character field. I want to constrain input
to 2-decimal-place numbers (but still stored as a string). What
combination of InputMask and Format properties is best? 9.99 sort of
works but is a pain.

Try installing the MS package:
MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 (Microsoft XML Core Services)

I have ... sort of awkward because the textbox is already a special

They used to be OK for downloads but now they force you to use their own
download and install software which proceeds to add annoying nagware.

Something like that? I've not actually done that before - but I would
definitely like to do it this time around.
Strangely - last night - upon opening the box and pulling out the laptop - it
only had a small paper setup
DELL used to provide a CD/DVD for re-installation, but even they're not
supplying that anymore (at least on a model I purchased about 20 months
ago). HP hasn't provided a disk in many years, not sure about other brands.

They tend to have a hidden recovery partition these days.
I like to use Macrium Reflect (free) to image drives. It will also let
you create a recovery CD that you can boot from, and use in conjunction
with a recovery image if you have to replace the HDD. Just make sure to

Darn. I go to download this Macrium - and it turns out you have to download it
from Download.com. And, it instructs you to download a Driver Update program.
However, those seem to be download links not associated w/Macrium. But, its
hard to tell. It's a Really Dumb webpage on Download.com
I use Macrium Reflect which has a free version and is excellent, similar to
Norton Ghost but better (ie nor Norton). I use the paid for version.

I've recently moved to Windows 8.1 and have a couple of issues with the VFP
IDE. When I want to drag a system window (Project Manager or Properties
Window), I get a grey frame and the window moves jerkily to its new
position. Is this normal or is there a setting I don't know about?
