Is M$ using the stats for marketing? Probably so. Do I use the M$ tool
for images? Rarely ever. Is this an OS thing? Probably not and more an
app thing but let's not go there because we don't know so we will blame the
OS all the time.

Ubuntu was only sending search history and it was easily opted out. Next
version won't default to sending Amazon search history even.
Microsoft seems to be sending a lot more information on many more items,
to a complex network of obfuscated domain names. Not good.

Gentlemen,
Suddenly my VFP debug window seems to have disappeared for no apparent reason.
I can load an "administrator" version of VFP and can open the Debugger no
problem but can't seem to find the window in the standard running of VFP.
I can't even see the window if I issue "activate window
Tracy,
I just noticed as your email cam e in that the tile on the status bar for VFP
had two windows open but the one that was labelled debug had nothing in it. I
had to maximize the window from right clicking on the task bar and then reset
the window layout to default and that has just fixed

Anyone know if VFP 6 runs on Windows 10?
1) development mode.
2) Run time?
3) Or, where to find a reasonably priced VFP 9.
Thanks

Hello everyone,
I've tracked this down a little further.
Using the SysInternals Process Monitor program, VFP is looking for the
FOXUSER.DBF.
In the process, it looks in the current folder, then every folder in the
PATH. There bad path does not appear in the captured data.

I was not able to find a way to purchase it.

Best to advise your clients to get rid of the Norton crap and get
something like Avast. You can easily disable all their sandbox and other
useless crap, unlike Norton and McAfee

Some anti-virus clients, like Norton, look at the file to see what it
really is and deletes those that it feels like might be able to do damage.
I'd put it in dropbox, box or a website and download it from there. Unless
you can remote into their box and transfer it that way.
Sure, they fixed it after a user reported the bug, but don't you think
that negative increments would have been checked in testing? I don't
know if I would have found it but I hope I would, and an ms team (?)
certainly should have, after all it's a pretty small application.

I zip up an exe and send it to my customer as I have done for years.
Last week, Norton would not let my customer unzip it. The "Run anyway" did not
work. Norton deleted the exe.
So I gave the exe a txt extension. Same thing. Did not even let us rename it
to exe. It deleted is.
We both have
How did you send it? Because of the vagaries of various email clients, etc I
now use a shared folder in Dropbox to transfer exe files to a client.

Yeah, I had missed that. Wes' original post ended up on my Spam
folder, as Yahoo! sends along some mail headers that make relaying a
Yahoo! email address via a mailing list always appear to be spam.
Sorry for the unhelpful suggestion.

True, it does not when the config.fpw has the resource=off in it. Which has
also been in since VFP 5.

If there is no foxuser.dbf in your Path VFP will create one.
This behavior is since VFP5.0

So, software that is supposed to be helping you is preventing you from
doing your job?
Delete it.
You could also try ZIPping the EXE.
