An update, Vista with 1 Gb won't work, everytime I have Outlook and
start Win Media Player I got this wonderful message saying that I am
low in memory(maybe I am) and win will nicelly close an application.
I guess 2 Gb is the minimum.

It will be interesting whether this new security will
lower the number of viruses and spyware that will
infect it or whether it's just a PITA for the
administrator.

Hi
I have it in my new laptop. It's ok so far, but the security is a pain.
I would love this f&^%$ thing to ask me THE OWNER what I want.
U know, just present me with a big screen full of check boxes and one
big option, deselect all.

It isn't. ME was the last gasp of the Windows 95 codebase and completely
pointless. Vista is a continuation of the NT codebase and sooner or
later will supersede XP.

Because it comes pre-installed on new PCs.

Also I noticed that performance is better than XP with a number of large
apps loaded. It probably has better memory handling.

Driver support is nowhere near as comprehensive as XP, but that's to be
expected with the new architecture. Simple fi

I don't want to install it yet because it introduces
an unknown into very stable systems I have set up.

Awful. I have a 2G workstation and memory usage was terrible.
I would be hard pressed to find anything positive to say about my Vista
experience.
I ended up re-building my workstation to run XP Pro.
