I think that's the wrong way round - Windows Defender was based on Giant
AntiSpyware (written in VB6), MSE is an entirely in-house development.

FWIW, out of all the wireless boxen I've used (with exception of the
$500+ Cisco boxes) the Linksys WRT54G's were the overall winners for
performance and reliability.
I get two scenarios: the client gets an alert but ignores it or they click
on Spam. Once they do that they are done for.
