work but
I know a lot of FileMaker developers that are abandoning FM because of the
outlandish licensing fees that FM/Apple are now charging.
Here's a blog post (from 2015) about looking for a new development platform and
eventually returning to Xojo. http://timdietrich.me/blog/going-with-xojo/

Now, are we
FileMaker Pro Advanced allows royalty free, cost more to purchase the Advanced
version, still not as nice as VFP.

I only remember the really old versions, but IIRC it was easy enough to

According to PC Magazine, it's been the absolute best database program
around for the last 5 years.
then I guess the Fox isn't a database program?
Filemaker Pro has been around a long time and used to be compared to e.g.
CardBox
- the Fox is better (end user *and* developer) and cheaper (free

The statement I made about PC Magazine and FileMaker is true. I mentioned it because of
its irony. Of course VFP is better than FileMaker (and pretty much everything else), but
PC Magazine is unaware of its existence. Extraordinary, what?

Not impressed. I saw a demo of it by a FileMaker MVP and the presentation was
horrible.
The product seems to be less flexible than MS Access in many ways and more
powerful in
some. It is pretty self contained and when I asked about programming/scripting

The only 'run in' I've had is trying to import data from it into
a commercial application we have out there.
A real PITA. Had to go out an purchase the product just to get
the data out.
