Hi
Well I just tought RE wasn’t necessary.
An update, Vista with 1 Gb won't work, everytime I have Outlook and
start Win Media Player I got this wonderful message saying that I am
low in memory(maybe I am) and win will nicelly close an application.
I guess 2 Gb is the minimum.

It will be interesting whether this new security will
lower the number of viruses and spyware that will
infect it or whether it's just a PITA for the
administrator.

More likely when MS and/or the vendors write new drivers conforming to
the new Vista driver model.

It isn't. ME was the last gasp of the Windows 95 codebase and completely
pointless. Vista is a continuation of the NT codebase and sooner or
later will supersede XP.

Low frame-rate for games (talking about Vi$ta x32)

It's the new Windows ME.
Waiting for service pack 1 is ideal. I never bother with 2000 or XP before
that. I've not heard any good things about it. Application compatibility
is a HUGE issue. There are too many apps that people have that won't work
under Vista.

Because it comes pre-installed on new PCs.

Also I noticed that performance is better than XP with a number of large
apps loaded. It probably has better memory handling.

I have it on my laptop, and there are a few niggles it has to be said.
Driver support is nowhere near as comprehensive as XP, but that's to be
expected with the new architecture. Simple fi

I don't want to install it yet because it introduces
an unknown into very stable systems I have set up.

It's OK. Can't say it's any better than XP really. Pretty stable

Awful. I have a 2G workstation and memory usage was terrible.
I would be hard pressed to find anything positive to say about my Vista
experience.
I ended up re-building my workstation to run XP Pro.

Why not get 3 Vista boxes and use the downgrade rights, then you'd have XP,
with Vista available when you want it.
Vista is OK and may be recommendable in Q4 when the first Service Pack is due.
