design process.
We use Orcad Capture for schematic entry and spice modeling. Protel for
layout.

Bingo
You identified my problem. The pads are top Layer with a hole specified.
Does DXP have this fixed?
thank you

I am surprized that I have not run into this problem before.

use protel for all the board documents. If protel had
better dimensioning tools and mirroring control for plotting title blocks/borders
there would be no need for autocad for any of our board layouts.

I'm wondering if you ever
higher glass transition temperature. Our board house was able to suggest one
that they had used in the past.

I find that when the print preview is not working properly that I can get
the preview correct by highlighting the printer within the design explorer,
then editing the properties. Sometimes just touching the printer settings

My use of the .designator string is because my locator drawing requires all
references visible and where possible within the component outline. The
silkscreen designator should whenever possible be outside the component
outline.

important so that boards are an absolute known element and the design can
move forward over time.

I drew the arcs in metric units and the arcs appeared properly in both
Camtastic and GCPrevue. It would seem that Protel 9SE and Camtastic must
share some unit conversion code that has a bug.

I've used land patterns that look like two semi circles separated by 7-8
mils for test and debug shunts. These 2 pad footprints needed to be this
far apart so that it was easy to remove the bridge when required. They are
a little hard to manage because they are made of 2 pads 40mil round, 2
I have not been able to control arcs in a Clientbasic macro. Does anyone
have control over the start and end angles?
The use of Center method is the default but I've seen no example of method
specification. I guessed at this as in line 2. My arcs seem to start at a
quadrant and end at 3 oclock.

You have identified a long time problem with Protel. I have my library
components constructed with a .designator string and an outline much as you
describe. Mine are on Mechanical 1, from days with only 4 mechanical layers.
My outlines are 4mil lines centered ten mils beyond the max pa
Hi
I was without the hole size editor for several months, then I lost x-y

the registry getting all program references removed. And finally

You might also watch for errors in the .LEGEND string if you use more than
sixteen drill sizes. This is more than a normal amount but the drill drawing
is a mess after sixteen sizes. It most often arises for me when SMD require
NPT holes. If a single drill tool could be used and a plating thickn
