Hey Ginny. GOod to see you on the list. They haven't yet rolled out the M Powered version yet, But LE and HD are currently available according to several sources. I've just moved back to Nashville, and have been busy with that, so haven't seen the avid site yet to confirm. Hope this helps. On J

Hello again, There is a new Mac Mini released, but doesn't seem to be much more powerful than last batch. The fastest model has an Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.66ghz, 4 or 8 gb of ram and a harddisk of max 500gb at 5400rpm. Firewire 800 is present though. Do you think such machine is capable of running PT

Hi Ronald, I've mixed 32 track sessions with a minimum of one plugin per track on a Mac mini with worse specs than those, so yeah, it should serve you well enough unless your needs are intensive. You'll want to work with an HDD faster than 5400rpm though for multitracking, so either go for a smal

Hi, guys. I have a wimpy-looking little Korg surface that has the transport buttons and faders and knobs for 8 tracks. It doesn't always work perfectly, but for GB and Logic it has done a rather decent job-especially since it only cost $59. When looking for other such surfaces, I see the

No. They never talk about what they'll do with hardware in future machines. The Firewire controller in the iMac works just fine with audio interfaces under OS X. I know people that use them with Logic, as well as using 003s with Pro Tools. I'm not so sure how they'll work under Windows, though.

Hi. yes, that is exactly my concern. I'd go for a mac pro desktop if I could use a firewire interface on the mac side for pt and logic, and then use the same interface with sonar on the windows side. I don't know anyone with a current Imac either so can't test it out. H. Cameron.
