After a long hiatus, I finally got my mac book pro
repaired. This involved replacing the hard drive and other components. So I
have a very generic installation of el capitan. IThe latest version of PT I
have is version 11, which at that time I had running on Maverick.

There are probably a few ways of doing this, each with its own ramifications.
If you have the vocal in another session and just want to import one section,
it's probably easiest to open that other session and bounce the section
offline, name it something memorable and import it into
