Jason, There's currently no way to edit MIDI events other than scrubbing and using cut, copy and paste. One thing (which I believe Kevin was suggesting) is to change the behavior of the insertion point following playback. Pressing Control-n toggles this behavior and there's a checkbox in the Op

The main thing that needs to be unchecked is the insertion follows playhead setting. That will unlink them so that when you press stop, it will go back to where your insertion point is.. Then, When you move the insertion point, the playhead moves, not the other way around. At this point, I can't
