Hi John,
Feel free to reach out off list and I can help you sort it out. Yes, it's not
something that you have to deal with often but, I assure you, it's smooth once
you have the hang of it.
Best,
Slau

Yep, it's written in QT. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.
Cheers!

No, I really did mean the ilock license manager. I could not sign in,
or anything else using voiceover. I think I have it set to remember
my credentials, I will have to check, and thank goodness I don't have
to do this very often.

Hi Slau,
Yup, I've played around with it a bit. It looks like it's built on qT, or one
of those cross-platform UI frameworks in which case they've done very very very
well to make it as usable as they have.
Cheers,

Hi John,
I'm assuming you're referring to the Application Manager rather than the iLok
License Manager.

Hi Dónal,
My experience with the iLok License Manager has been extremely consistent. For
what it's worth, it's not, strictly speaking, a Mac application and is fully
cross-platform between Windows and Mac. The instructions in the user manual as
well as my demo both suggest that, for best
I have found that program completely inaccessible and had to get eye
balls whenever I use it, thank goodness not too often.

hi Slau,
OH the behaviour is more or less as it was, it's just choosing the wrong iLok
for me and I see no way to change it. In other words, the one selected in the
application isn't the one connected to the device.
I'd also comment that from a User Experience perspective, it's very
Hi Dónal,
I've seen no issues with the iLok License Manager. In fact, it has never
changed behavior. What issue are you having?

Hi Slau,
Yup I've had the login issues until a recent update. I've now disabled it
completely. On a related topic: how are you finding the iLok license manager
these days? I still find it a challenge, I have to say.

Hi Dónal,
Well, you're not the only one to have troubles. Sweetwater's engineers most
often encourage users to simply disable the Application Manager because so many
have had trouble with it. I've personally had no issues with it until only very
recently but, when it works, it works great.
Chuck,
The suggestion to just ring Avid worked a charm. They had it sorted in 5
minutes. I guess I'll be renewing my support/upgrade plan then. *smile*
All the best,

Hi Donal,
Its worse than a 4 year old!
At least after a while the 4 year old will go to sleep!
One of the first things I do after a new up date is to disable the "app
manager"! :(
Since I'm paying for my HD subscription why not use it! :)
I've got music to record not wrestle with soft ware thats
Hi Chuck,
Perfectly happy to do that. It's weird, none of the standard cursor routing
keystrokes will bring either the mouse or keyboard to where I want them to go.
This thing reminds me of my four-year old: It has a mind of its own, and takes
some serious pressure to do what it's tole. :)
Hi Donal,
The app manager is sad to say the least! :(
Almost every "beta teem" conference call I bring this up but still no joy!
If you have an Avid support plan I suggest you call them and have them do it
for you to save time!
This will bring this issue up again from your having to call and let
Hi there,
Sadly, no joy with that whatsoever. Interestingly, VO doesn't report anything
under the mouse once I execute the move. I had thought of the off-screen
issue, but not the page-down solution. However, even after executing this
command multiple times, no joy. Tis most odd indeed.
Hi Dónal,
Depending upon where in the physical list the item appears, it might actually
be off screen even though voiceOver will still read it. Since the Application
Manager really only responds to mouse clicks rather than default actions, it's
necessary to take steps to ensure things are
