Steve and Byron, thank you for confirming it. Just making sure I'm not
missing a setting.
Actually I don't own a touch bar, but I work with students who do.
I made a program that will let you type f1-f12 and numpad keys using fn key.
fn+1,2,34 ( on number row) to f1, 2, 3, 4
fn+q,w,e,r to f5,6
Yes sir, correct.

Actually you may be right on that one, but you can iswitch it so that the
TouchBar displays the function keys by default so you don’t have to press FN to
get to them. That being said 1 through 4 is right above the numbers on the
number row so I pretty much developed muscle memory to hit those an
Hi,
Please correct me if I' wrong. There might be a setting to change this
behavior that I'm not aware of.
I think you can only use fn+1,2,3,etc (on the number row) only for
VoiceOver function.
In other words, you can press fn+vo+2 (on the number row) to read the
title of current window, but
where in audio format.

Hi,
The 15” MacBook pros only have the touch bar, however when using voiceover you
can press the FN key to use the normal number keys as Function keys. Also VO+
the minus and plus keys will turn system volume up and down so you don’t have
to mess with the touch bar to use those either.

You would need. A double dongle solution to make it work you will need the
firewire to thunderbolt adapter, and then connect the thunderbolt end to the
thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 adapter. Think of the ports on the MacBook Pro
as Thunderbolt 3 ports which also support USB-C. Since the USB-C
I still use my Digi 003. I used to use a firewire 800 to firewire 400 cable,
but then I bought a firewire to thunderbolt adaptor and it works much better
and is far more reliable now. Definitely worth a look.
Hope that helps.

Hi, The Digital 003 uses Firewire ports and I have not managed to locate
an adapter that ports Firewire to USB type C plugs. Do most USB
interfaces work well with an USB type C adapter cable and do any of the 15
inch Mac laptops have the function keys or just the touch bars? I want to

Personally I’d opt for the 15” pro over the 13” pro laptop. The 15” pros has
the advantage of quad or 6 pro processors and discrete graphics. That being
said, There are very few actual USB-C interfaces on the market most of the
USB-C interfaces are really just USB 2 interfaces with a USB-C cable
Hi. I'm actually using my focusrite saffire pro 40 with my new MacBook pro 2018.
I'm using an adapter and it's working fine.
I have considered selling it so if you'd be interested, feel free to
