My understanding of this from the web site:

is that only a subset of papers are choosen to be published in BMC
Bioinformatics.

The Society for Neuroscience meeting accepts short abstracts which is
typically presented as a poster at the meeting. There are no full length
papers published from the Neurosciences meeting.

Regarding conferences and journals- does anyone know of a web site that is
tracking (with calendar) semantic and related conferences?
I have prepared an abstract and am working on a paper introducing our Kyield
system, and attempting to find the most appropriate match, which is no easy
task-
This year's Society for Neuroscience meeting abstracts are due May 15th. I'd
like to take the lead on submitting an abstract if the team is interested.

I think you might refer to the abstract (based on the HCLS paper that is
being published in BMC Bioinformatics) that was submitted to the
highlight track of ISMB Unfortunately, I just found out that the
abstract was rejected.
