Hi Eric,
Yes, our plan will be to provide URIs for referencing all content. We
hope to have that available soon.
In addition, we are also working on exposing as Web services the
functions available through the BioPortal GUI.
Let us know if you have any other questions or feedback on requirements
I strongly agree with the several endorsements to make use of the
BioPortal for this requirement.
In working directly with NCBO on the ontology component of what we're
doing, we will also be much more likely be aware of - and make use of
- the other relevant ontologies being aggregated with
Mark,
I do think this is the right way to share and interlink ontologies.
We would certainly support the cross-linking from our activity sites,
as well as using them directly.
Looking at the interface, it is not clear to me ho best to reference
an element of the ontologies there-- is the
Helen,

Helen,
We'd be delighted to have you consider hosting these files on the
BioPortal ontology repository that we are creating as part of the
National Center for Biomedical Ontology (see http://
www.bioontology.org/ncbo/faces/index.xhtml). We soon will be
releasing BioPortal to the community
