Hi devs!
I can`t build QGIS 1.7.4 in Windows 7 Pro with MSVS 2010 Express and Qt
4.8. Errors appear in qgis_core project:

Hi,
We are exposing some spatial data using GeoServer WFS. This data is
being rendered and edited using QGIS. We ran a small packet-capture test
to see how are transactions handled. The observations were as below:
* 4 separate requests were sent to WFS server
* The 4 requests have no common
Hi,
I am new to GIS world recently started using QGIS. It's a wonderful
tool, and is an excellent example of a good open-source tool.
We are developing a solution that stores spatial data (along with
attributes) in normalized database tables. This data is exposed via

Hi all,
release time again... happens that just couple of hours after i pushed
alpha5, the necessitas framework received a new update [1] that
addresses some important issues.
Meanwhile I managed to compile GEOS and GDAL with armeabi-v7a
optimizations and updated the wiki [2].
As well, I go
Hi Larry,
Ok got it ;) should have thought of that ..
If there will be a 1.7.5 - it will be solved .. but I assume the Mac
packages to be correctly produced ..
In 1.8 and master it is already solved ..
Thanks for the hint
kind regards

Sorry, Werner, my mistake. I created the diff backwards, from master
to 1_7_4. There is definitely an error with quotes on line 114

Hi all.
I tested the geometry validity against a dangled polygon, and it
detected no errors. Does it work for you?
All the best.

As I mentioned, in order to avoid start-up errors with qgis I have
downgraded python-gdal to 1.8,
but then when I try to use the raster (gdal) utilities (from within
qgis 1.7.4) I get:
gdal_translate: /usr/local/lib/libgdal.so.1: no version information
available (required by gdal_translate)
ERROR 1
I agree with Ivan and Sandro.
In master, file debian/control.oneiric contains
Package: libqgis{QGIS_ABI}
The package name should be libqgis1.7 instead of libqgis1.7.3 , with
new versions as packages get updated.
This issue pops up every single release here or in the ubuntu gis
mailing list...

Hi Nathan,
Thanks for the answer.
I might try to this on my own if I have time, it could be a good way to
learn c++ and qgis ;)

Nice Micky! well done, I'm very interested in testing that.

Hi,
In master version (5099c70) on debian machine, I get a wrong scale.
For an area that should be displayed to scale 1:578.000, in qgis I get
1:41.727.804.283
Any hint to resolve this issue?
Regards

Hey Denis,
Sure. This is a great idea. Martin Dobias (the guy that wrote the rule
based rendering) has thought about adding this. Not sure if/when it is
getting worked on.

Hi!
No, I just run the upgrade, which is supposed to remove whatever has
to be removed.
Once I removed libqgis1.7.3, both problems were solved but had
problems with python-gdal.
I have had to downgrade python-gdal from 1.9.0.1 to 1.8.0-2, do not
know why (I thought this problem had been solved).

Adding old versions to debian/c

1. The python plugin installer is gone.
2. Selecting Settings/Options makes QGIS crash
