Hi all. thanks in advance for your assistance.
I have a georef vector pdf which is the only source of some polygon and
line data I can find.
When brought into QGIS the embedded symbology works as expected -
polygons fills look correct etc.
I can use the info tool and view the derived field

never mind I figured it out.
the graduated engine does not like null values in the field, so i used a
calulated field:

Hi All.
I have a point table view with around 50,000 records and 160 fields in
postgres which loads into qgis very quickly.
the problem comes when i try to assign a graduated symbology.
no matter which Mode i use - fixed interval, jenks etc, when i hit the

Hi All;
I am having trouble bringing a geospatial sql view into qgis using the
add mssql server layer dialogue.
I have a geospatial view that was created from two tables in a separate
database.
One of the two tables has a geospatial field. This table can be brought
into qgis without issues
Could this be a change in QGIS 3.6?

Hi.
I am on qgis 3.6.
I have been using the referencing plugin for a while with no dramas, but
now when I click on the tool button in the raster menu, qgis loses focus,
but the georeferencer window does not appear.
Have Googled an answer but they are all for qgis v2 and the registry keys

I would copy one and paste as a new layer eg shapefile, then select the
next set of data and page to my new shape file.
Not scratch layers, but it works.

don't use the open layers plugin, use the quickmapservices one instead.

there are lots of different satellite images in there as well as plenty fo

not so simple,
If you use the colour function to set the symbol colours using data
defined styles, then use the categorised fields to get the text labels for
the symbols, the wrong colours show up on the legend, although they are
fine on the map.
if you just use a single symbol with the data
If you have MapInfo wth discover, you can save the colour scheme for each
polygon as a new column in the tab file, then use that to colourise it via
the properties, styles menu in qgis.
Failing that if you have a screen grab of the map/tab file you can
categorise the features in qgis by one of

Agreed that would work, but it is just moving the synchronisation problem
upstream so that it now sits between my local SQL server and the main one
that every one works from.
I am thinking of trying to put together a Python program that will grab all
of the SQL requirements, download the table
Hi Goyo..
Thanks for your response.
I don't believe the offline editing plugin will copy my mssql table?
Either way, the idea is not to edit the database offline, just being able
to view the data offline is the goal, then when coming back to a
connection, getting the latest copy of the database

Hi Damien,
thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately, your suggestion does not work. I have already tried many
variants, but I had no success.

I think it is pretty re ent, but newer version of qgis allow this

Iam using version 2.14.2 and have a shape file linked to an excel

an id field.
I can then just use the linked fields exactly the same

HI Jan.
What is happening is that the coords in the shape file that you can see in the
attributes table are just copies of the actual coords used to display the data.
It is simple to update these coords from the underlying data.
In qgis,
1. open the attribute table for your shapefile.

HI
I have two tables, a point table and a polygon table. I want to be able to
create a new field in the point table using data in a field in the polygon
table.
Basically if a point is within a poygon I would like to return the value from
polygon.value as a field in the point table, but am lost
My suggestion would be to create a buffer of 3m around your original points.
(vector/geoprocessing/buffer
That creates a new vector table. (vector Buffer)
Load the new vector table is it isn’t already
Then do a spatial query select source features from: new points table

My suggestion would be to try using the buffer tool in
vector/geoprocessingtools.
This automatically creates buffers around your discharge point at set
distances. You could then use these to select areas within those radii and
assign attributes?

Very clunky, but if you have a consecutive numerical field in your table, you
could add a new field which equals old field -1, then bring the table in twice
and link by old field to new field. The rest should be easy.
Probably much easier in a database though.

Hi Daniel. I assume you are using the open layers plugin.
If so set your map canvas to exactly the same size as the page size. This works
for me.
You do this under item properties/position and size.
