Hi all
I tried to load in Qgis, by using fast SQL layer, a query like this:
SELECT (select ST_Union(ST_Buffer(geom,500)) FROM public.mytable) as geom;
This query make a buffer of the features in mytable and union them in a
single polygon (if contiguous).
It works in pgadmin and in openjump but

Normally i really can't complain about the windows support.
Once you understand what this osgeo4w installer does and how to use it
e.g. for advanced installs, it really works very well.
I think it's much harder for untrained people under linux to get extra
stuff running than with the windows
I think all the effort put in making QGIS available for Window users shows
everything but disregard for QGIS users on this OS. In addition, I think
people should never forget that all the work developers put into the
development of QGIS is a huge favor to us users, whether on Linux or
Windows!.

Hi!
I am somewhat puzzled by a remark by Mr Paolo Cavallini in another thread.
The poster there had experienced serious difficulties when updating his
QGIS.
His main mistake seems to be that he was running Windows, and Paolo wrote:

Not exactly, but close. If you open the labeling tool, go to 'Data defined
settings' tab. There you can define font, color, etc based on user-defined
fields. But those fields must contain a color definition (RGB code I guess,
but check), numbers if you want to use it to define the font size, etc. S

Hello to all,
Thanks to Lionel Roubeyrie's contour plugin : its of great interest in my
applications.
I had some trouble plotting contours using the contour plugin from an xyz
file dealing with population. In this particular case, some in the inner

1. You have to know what to search for when qgis simply crashes s
confirmed. Lee probably changed that setting without knowing it -
funky things can happen with mouse scrolling sometimes - you
inadvertently scroll down a combo box when you meant to scroll the
page.

Hello,
Is it possible in Qgis to display categorized labels ?
For instance I would like to display labels from field "number" but
color and font of label should be dependent from field "type".
