I'm gonna report a problem that I observed frequently. I have polygon
shapefile, downloaded from the net, representing the path of a satellite. I
think this shapefile derive from a .kml, but I'm not sure. This layer is
WGS84 EPSG:4326.
I have also a layer in UTM 32N (EPSG:32632).

Hi Giacomo
As his name says Define projection is used when a layer has not defined
his projection; so in this case I think the right way is to reproject the
path of satellite, from Lat-Long to UTM... but this has a cost in
representation: if your Lat-Long layer represents the whole world, when
Thank you very much, I tried you suggestion, but it doesn't work. I think
is because of the origin of the shapefile, coming from a kml. Since is not
the first time that I notice this problem, I realized that it is not
possible to reproject a shapefile made from a kml. Am I wrong? Thank you

Alex - Good idea with the Firebug. This is what I found The first URL is
the one being sent to the QGIS Server (returns no results) and the second one
is the URL that gets sent to GeoServer (returns results):
Peter,
I think you are just missing the map parameter. Should be:
map=/path/to/your/projectfile.qgs
This is essential, as otherwise QGIS server doesn't know which project
you are refering to.
As Alex said, this is a vendor-specific parameter. Alternatively to the
map parameter you can use a
It's strange, I have not problem to do it: reproject a shape file from a
kml, even to reproject a kml and directly convert it to shape file. (Right
click -- Save as...) - QGIS 2.0.1 - Ubuntu 12.04 I think you must not
use Define projection.

Andreas - I had previously used the map parameter per an earlier response, but
it didn't help. I have two test versions of this. One that does tell QGIS
Server to use a project file at the path listed in the map parameter and one
that does not list a map parameter, in which case QGIS Server
Forgot to mention one thing. Even though QGIS Server is not sending back
any results from the request, it does send back an HTML response that just
contains an empty table, but it does reference that this is a GetFeatureInfo
result and has the HTML table lined up to add results if it had
An interesting update to this.. So the scenario that has not been working
looks something like this:
OpenLayers -- QGIS Server -- QGIS Project File -- GeoServer -- PostGIS
I decided to run a test and create a new project file with the same layer
(location_view) but this time create a

I didn't realize originally that you are doing a cascaded WMS layer. I
have no idea if QGIS supports cascading 100%, so you may have found a
missing feature.
But if the layer is in your Geoserver, you can send the getfeatureinfo
request directly to Geoserver.
Thanks,
Alex

Dear *QGIS *Users,
Good Day!
Just would like to ask how to properly configure sextante/processing
toolbox GRASS and SAGA modules using the QGIS 2.0 standalone installer.
I installed QGIS 2.0 Dufour, GRASS 6.4.3 and SAGA using standalone
installers. Then in the Processing Menu Options and
