I needed to add a vectorial layer. Opening 'Layer Properties' dialog,
'Style' and trying to change the color of single symbol there is an option

The most recent info I've seen is from two tears ago where it seems
the feature was anticipated. Has this in fact been implemented? Will
RTFM if pointed to it.

So it would be useful to configure them.

to do "clip". Why don't you try running ogr2ogr from the command line?
