I am still not successful with the install. I have tried several
times using different folders than the 32 install and it creates all
the folders (both the application and the http download), also the
application group that I select (different from 32 bit) is there. But
there are no links created
in arcmap I can setup ddp (data driven pages).
Run a tool to split my alignment by a given length, and then tell ddp
to create a sheet for each segment. Which is ok until your segments go
from north-south to east-west orientation (makes you decide whether to
rotate the page or not or make a square
to shorten the process(and make the system a bit more uniform).
What I do is
1. decide on the paper size I want,
2. create a shapefile with that size polygon,
3. scale, rotate and move that polygon up to world coordintates,
4. copy that polygon and move each one along alignment.
5. Edit the page in

I am thinking rather than that it is just the fact that when you use
degrees, moving in the map would give you a different scale.
Because every time you move north or south you have changed the length of
the x distance.
If you pan left and right (very carefully) do you see the scale not change?
we like to hear about the solutions. (esp when they are silly).
