What are the plans or the timeline for QGIS releases beyond 2.6?
Will there be a new release every 6 months, or will things slow down?
2.8, 3.0?

Folks,
I have seen a few messages regarding the availability of the popular (my
favorite) OpenLayers plugin in 2.4. Is this available for use in 2.4? Is it
already installed with 2.4 or do users have to install it separately? What is
the current status of this wonderful plugin, all working OK?
I noticed the QspatiaLite plugin was recently upgraded. I have QGIS 2.2
and when I click to use the QspatiaLite plugin, first a small error
message window pops up with just the text 4.1.1. I have to click twice
to close the error message and then the plugin opens. Is this a bug?
This is in QGIS 2.2. When I label a polygon layer, in my case a very
simple shapefile of just a few sates, only 2 of the 8 labels appear and
the rest are missing. When I go into edit layer mode, I see all labels,
then turn off edit mode, and only the same two labels appear. When I
zoom so far out
I uninstalled QGIS 2.0.1 and just installed 2.2 using the Windows
standalone installer 64 bit. I now am unable to use any of the 157 GRASS
tools.
I get the following messages in a Missing dependency window that pops up
when I try to use a GRASS tool:
Missing dependency. This algorithm cannot be
I currently have 2.0.1 and am excited about the great new features in
2.2. I plan to install 2.2 using the Windows 64 bit standalone
installer. Is all fairly OK with this installer? Any major performance
bugs or reasons that would keep me from installing 2.2? Major
functionality working OK? Just
I was just curious if there was a list of some sort or any details about
new features coming, planned, or at least desired for the 2.4 release?

Correction to my last post regarding the workaround mentioned at the end
of this page: http://hub.qgis.org/issues/8923
The two SQL commands to get your newly added fields to appear again in
your spatiaLite attribute table should be:
UPDATE geometry_columns_statistics set last_verified = 0
In the Labels section of a layer properties window, there is a button in
the upper left called Automated placement settings (apply to all
layers).
What exactly does this do? Search method, Number of candidates, show all
labels and features for all layers, show candidates (for debugging),
show
Using QGIS 2.01. Yesterday I added some fields in my simple SpatiaLite
polygon layer. Specifically x, y fields so that I could move labels,
as well as a field to hold just the labels I need. So I come in today,
open up my .qgs project and the labels are missing. I open up my
attribute table and
in the QspatiaLite plugin.
UPDATE geometry_columns_statistics set last_verified = 0
SELECT UpdateLayerStatistics('geometry_table_name')
Then my missing fields reappear.

Gary Sherman's PyQGIS Programmer's Guide is now in print. Should be a
great handy book. See http://locatepress.com/ppg.

For folks new to GIS or QGIS in general, and it all seems overwhelming,
Anita Graser's Learning QGIS 2.0 book is wonderful and will get you
started in no time. Covers all the basics very well. Here blog is great

Ah yes, I see. Very nice. Is there a PDF version of this for printing?
Or a hardcopy version for purchase?

What is the latest news regarding the US/North America QGIS Users Group?
Is there an established website? First meeting? Any idea how many QGIS
users in the US? I recall someone stating on this list, I'd sure like
to meet people using QGIS! Just a few people here where I work use it

Is there a 2.x version available in pdf or hardcopy?
Learning QGIS 2.0 by Anita Graser is a separate book. I actually have that one.

I just tried out the handy ImportLayersFromProject plugin but when a
layer is added, its attribute table is completely empty of any records
and therefore no features are drawn. Is this some kind of known error?
This essentially makes this plugin useless. Anybody have any info about
this?
From some posts I have read it looks like the both the 64 bit Windows
standalone and Osgeo4W installers are busted and one should install the
32 bit version instead. Is this correct? I used the 64 bit standalone
installer back in early October and am missing some GDAL libraries and
