I have a simple project which includes a BlueMarble geotiff background,
a shapefile of U.S. state boundaries, and several shapefiles of
projected tropical storm tracks. When I save an image of the map
interactively using the Save as Image menu item, the resulting png
file accurately reflects
I have 199
point shapefiles of water depths that I would like to display
and edit using QGIS. Since all of these shapefiles are in one
geographic area, I would like the symbology to be the same for
all the files, but don't want to point click to setup

Do you have any ideas on why I cannot group the layers?

Alexander,
Okay, now I see it and it is working. I was trying to place
the line *on* the group icon and not below it, so the layer
would jump above the group. The images were very helpful.
Thank you very much.

I recently started using QGIS on Linux in order to completely rid myself
of proprietary software. I've been a Slackware user since the days of 5
1/4 floppies and was disappointed that there are no Slackware packages
available for the newer releases of qgis.
So I've created my own
I've been running qgis 0.10
on my Slack 12.1 machine (from a pre-built package from slacky.eu) with
no problems. I just built 0.11 from source and now see this error when
starting the program:
Couldn't load PyQGIS.
Python support will be disabled.
