Does anyone know if there is a plugin for QGIS that allows for mapping of
metes and bounds aka coordinate geometery (COGO) legal descriptions?

owever, the
joins tab is only set up to join attributes from another layer, not a
standalone table. How can I perform a join between a shapefile and a csv in
1.7?

Is there any reason that "Use render caching where possible to speed up

Hi Randy,
I used the GDAL clip raster by mask layer tool and got the same result you
did. I then tried the Saga Clip raster with polygon tool and it worked
perfectly.

v3 coming out I could expand it greatly...but this covers some cool things
you can do with QGIS that you can't with Arc, and some things that are
simply easier in QGIS.

Hi Scott,
Off the top of my head, these are some features QGIS has that ArcMap
doesn't have:
- Live layer effects
- Blending modes
- Unique renderers for points like point cluster, point displacement &
heatmap
- Unique renderers for polygons like inverted polygons & 2.5D
- Hillsh
revisit this?!

It was suggested that I try the plugin with the Python console open. This
solved the issues I was having and the entire plugin worked beautifully.
This is apparently an old problem in Windows, when there isn't a default
stdout device defined.

I've also tried different output file formats and Heatmap settings It
doesn't change the position of the output.
The output always looks correct, but is in the wrong coordinate space.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hi Badri,
You should visit GeoForAll.
http://www.geoforall.org/
It is a group supporting open geospatial education. There are over 120 labs
around the world and it is supported by OsGeo. It is a great group!
