Anybody seen this error message before?

I have read everything in print regarding qmail (I think)! But I don't know what to do about this message I'm getting upon trying to send mail to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> (my linux/qmail box): -- qmail: 938029565.082075 delivery 68: failure: Sorry._Altho ugh_I'm_listed_as_a_best-preferenc

It is working now!

qmail-popup without maildir

1999-09-22 Thread Glenn Crownover
Is it possible to use qmail-popup without using the Maildir format? I am trying to use $HOME/Mailbox for mail and gather my remotely via POP-3, but I keep getting the message: Could not connect to mail.bluejava.com (my domain) -ERR this user has no $HOME/Maildir Any ideas? Thanks! -- ·.¸¸.·´¯

Hopefully my last question. :-)

Almost running smooth as silk here! Just one last thing... What is the recommended replacement in a qmail environment (using Maildir now!) for /bin/mail? I have cron jobs wanting to use it (among many other apps). Thanks a bunch! -- ·.¸¸.·´¯`·. Glenn R. Crownover ·.¸¸.·´¯`·. Owner/CEO - Inves

Oh really? So the old 'mail' works as well eh? (Yes, I had diverted sendmail and that was working fine). I wonder why the Install tells you to replace mail then...? Frederik Lindberg wrote: > On Thu, Sep 23, 1999 at 02:49:08PM -0700, Glenn Crownover wrote: > > Oh, yes you

Actually I never tried to use /bin/mail with qmail because I was under the impression that it would not work. I didn't know that it was a 'front-end' to sendmail. I now have it linked to 'mutt' and that seems to be working fine. (unless somebody knows some 'gotchya's with that setup! :-) Thanks

Re: /bin/mail substitute

I'll field this one guys. :-) (I just asked this about four days ago Michael!) You don't really need to chmod 0 /bin/mail. Many here have said that /bin/mail works just fine with qmail, as it uses 'sendmail' and that has been substituted with qmail's version (right?). I have created a symbo

Phil, Many people have simply left /bin/mail alone and have reported that it works fine. As far as I know, you can safely ignore step #3 in REMOVE.binmail. Good luck! [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > In REMOVE.binmail: > > 3. If the binmail binary was /bin/mail, make sure that ``mail'' still >in

Adding Reply-To: to headers

2000-01-13 Thread Glenn Crownover
I've set up a simple mail list which works fine. But I'd like recipients to be able to simply hit REPLY and have the message go to the list as opposed to the original sender. I think the answer is to add a REPLY-TO: header field, but I've had no luck getting qmail-inject to ADD a header line. A

Re: pop3 retrieval

The easiest way is to create a symbolic link from /var/spool/mail/ to $HOME/Mailbox ln -s ~username/Mailbox /var/spool/mail/username (Repeat this command for each user on your system, replacing 'username' with the user's login name) Or, you could use switch to Maildir format and use qmail-pop3d

Also, try tcprulescheck (man tcprulescheck) to confirm that your tcprules have been properly configured. The syntax for 'tcprules' which creates the cdb file (which tcpserver actually uses) is a bit weird, perhaps it is not using the rules you think it is? Russell Nelson wrote: > Roberto Samaro

Just as an aside, the phrase "everyone else is using it" could also be considered a downside when taking security into consideration. The more something is used, the more hackers know about it. Just food for thought (and bosses love hearing about how secure you've made their system!) -- ·.¸¸.·

Handling bounces from mailing lists on a virtual domain
