Ugh.. Everything I send the message back to the email help bot, it
tells me it can't remove me from the list cause my address is not on
the list, but I still get the email. here's a copy of the headers in
a qmail message:

Your problem is this line:
env - PATH="$PATH" svscan
the svscan isn't found. Either you don't have that app, or it's not in your
path. Nothing more..

Thank you very much Martin and Dave..
Turns out that I need $EXT2 for forwarding, and the name of my alias
files was incorrect as well, should have been .qmail-gpsmac-default for
just .qmail-gpsmac (I presume, I just used the -default)
One other thing. I want to create a quick perl script to
I was looking over the Qmail homepage and I found that you can create a
rcpthosts file with the following shell command:
sed 's/:.*//' virtualdomains | cat - locals | sort rcpthosts
by Russ Nelson. This is pretty kewl, incase you all didn't know, but one
thing was wrong.
One: I'm ordered
There is a way to allow multiple email address to post to a list. I'm not
sure if it can be done with elmz or not, but I do know I post to a list with
multiple email addresses, but it all gets sent to just one address. It's a
closed list, but I've setup the preferences for my account to allow
You can get allot of information on www.qmail.org
that's where I started at, and there are ALOT of resources linked on the
front page that can help you in the transfer from SendMail to Qmail.
Check it out.. there is a realy awsome tutorial on that page call "Life with
Qmail" that helps you get
The email account that's I'm using to subscribe to this list an alias of the real
account. There is no user by the name of gp on my system.
But I do note in the Delivered-To it has the email address that I'm subscribed with:
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Might want to check that out.
Thanx for the input.. I'm reading though the archives, so I can't reply
individually like I wanted to.. Did some changes to my server and mucked
up my emai l ( oops ) so I didn't get any of your reply's personally..
But I did read about the bug report and I see what you are talking
about. I did
I know is not a topic for the list, but you all are so helpful, I just had
to ask :)
Does anybody have any suggestions on a good IMAP server? I've gotten
courier-imap installed and running, but my IMAP clients (Netscape

I just changed it..
The hostname of my system is settore.gpcentre.net, and I just changed the me

Now, is it possible for qmail to send mail to a virtual domain
to different poeple. For example in virtualdomains I would like
to put:
stockdigest.net:tony
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
--tony
- Original Message -
From: "Philip Gabbert" [EMAIL
be in the rcpthosts and the virtualhosts file.
That's it.

In the .qmail-default file that's located in tony's directory you need to
have "./Maildir/"
I found that I'm having to use .qmail-default insead of .qmail, so I would
try that.
Pretty much copy or rename your .qmail file to .qmail-default.

Right.. that's exactly what's going to happen. If you take a good at the
document, it will say that :allow is rather contradictarary to the relaying
exercise. :allow with no IP address will allow ANYBODY to use the mail
server..
remove :allow and rebuild the tcp.smtp.cdb again and it will work
Sorry.. I meant relay, not use :)

I've noticed looking at my mail logs qmail-send run every 25 minutes. I was
wanting to know is there a way to decrease that sleep time? 25 minutes is a
rather long time especially is I'm trying to figure out the workings of
qmail. When I send mail via the 'mail' cmd or using qmail-inject, it
permissions looking like:
etc..
This way you can direct people to the FAQs, and prevent them from posting on
the list ??
Thnx.. It fixed my problem..
Place a FAQ on this ;)
