I had the same issue with qmailadmin from portage. qmailadmin is
hardcoded to assume that use you the format Maildir. If you are using
.maildir qmailadmin will not work.
The ebuild is supposed sed this, but it didn't for me. I went to
inter7.com and downloaded the source for
